This 46 year old Nebbiolo from Piedmont, is still drinking nicely, although definitely past its peak.
Cherry in color with a wide reddish rim.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing cherries, brine, raspberries, currants, plums, bacon, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, light forest floor, must, black pepper and vinaigrette.
I didn't decant it, which was a good idea, as it did not last longer than an hour.
Good by itself, and better with food. I paired it with carpaccio.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
