Today's wine is from Stellenbosch, South Africa the 2017 Mulderbosch Faithful Hound Bordeaux Blend. A blend of 28% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc, 17% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, herbal notes, green bell pepper, black pepper, cassis, graphite and earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, green bell pepper, black currant, spice, pencil shavings and fresh dark earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium to medium + acidity and medium+ fine tannins that easily move into a long black fruit and earthy finish.
