Wine #2 of the night. Maybe it was the hour decant, but opened up more than prior experiences. Cherry notes. Tightly wound tannins. Great with Loafers za.

2020 fall. This has opened out a bit over the last six months - delicious layers of black and red cherry. It’s still darker and richer than the average Montevertine, but delicious nonetheless

As has been written, this is much darker and more brooding than, e.g. the 2013 or 2014, in aroma, flavor and appearance. It’s a bit closed at first but over hours and days reveals lots of black cherry and blackberry - a dark version of that Montevertine thing with some creaminess. Very good with lots of air now, this is a vintage that will really benefit from a bit of age

90/10 Sangiovese/canaiolo this has a really complex assortment of red and black fruit, anise, leather, and oregano.
Tannins were silky and full. Awesome!

You’d be hard pressed to find a better Chianti for this price point. So lush and balanced.
