Pezzo Morgana Riserva Salice Salentino Negroamaro

A lot stewier and slightly higher in alcohol than I remember from prior vintages but still an exemplary Salice Salentino. Love Li Veli’s work.

Dark fruits on the nose. More complex than Zinfandel with more leathery notes, and a bit more tannins. Lives up to bitter name, plesently, sucks my cheeks in. Light spice on the palate, heavy spice on the finish. Paired well with bolognese and chicken a la mattone with smokey notes.

Lovely dark earth the wine savory fruit and spice and a deliciously chewy texture.

Sexy! Negroamaro. Smells like clay. Tastes like bellybutton

Better than I remembered. Good acidity balances out the initial jammyness.

Strong on the front but easy to drink, dark, earthy.

Sensual, just a baby but showing sexy notes of spicy baked red fruits and soil, can't wait to try again in another few years.

Baked fruit and spices cinnamon, juniper star anise, nutmeg, great pot roast wine for late fall wine

This restaurant has this under the "Weird, Indigenous, and Ancient" category. Definitely a winner.
