Nose has some elements I associate with Napa Cabs, like an intense gravelly, dusty character, together with more Zinny elements of deep, oozy blackberry fruit. Also a funky humus-like mossy thing that almost veers into grilled asparagus. Quite complex. Big-boned and aggressive in the mouth, with loads of brambly flavors and a drying texture. Needs boisterous food.

Lots of dark fruit. Black licorice cherries and pipe smoke on the nose . Cherry is dominant. Nice peppery notes without being overbearing. Acid and tannins are well balanced and it has a nice finish. A really great wine.

On the patio at Ruperts in McCall for the 4th. City imposed city wide MASK order for all. The Zinfandel is a real morale booster. Lush red fruit with very earthy mid pallet flavors.
