Old reddish amber color. Still with lots of life. Notes of tea, roses and a little tar. Still has a core of fruit in the mouth. No tannins but still is structured. Nice to show the group where a Barolo can go with 70 years

Apr 26th, 2018Light amber red, thin and translucent. Not much nose, even with 5 hrs of air. Nice structure remains in the mouth, it certainly is still alive. Fruit with rose and tea notes came on after a lot of air, but overall the fruit was faded and this was interesting but not memorable.

May 15th, 2016Light but clear brownish red color like old 70s family room paneling, translucent and thin in the glass; great old Barolo nose with tea leaves, tar, cherry, pepper, a little smoke, and something that reminds me of cough medicine; in the mouth at first this is angular and the structure/acidity overpowers the remaining fruit, but like most aged Barolo the fruit and a nice sweetness comes and goes in waves over several hours: really nice showing for a ~70 yr old wine that is one of their library release bottlings
