Another barrel aged Zinfandel from Lodi California. Showing black fruits, with cooked cherries, vanilla, black licorice, spices, alcohol, caramel, mocha and coke.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry to off dry on the palate with medium finish and soft tannins.
Very high in alcohol so watch out.
A nice party wine, although a tad unbalanced.

BOOZE BOMB. This bourbon barrel aged Zinfandel is an exceptional Lodi zin that has been thrown in to the barrels of bourbon from the great state of Kentucky. It comes in at 16.8%...no that isn’t a typo, 16.8. It is pretty well rounded considering the high abv and aging in whiskey barrels. Not much bourbon compared to other cabs/zins that have been bourbon aged. If you are all about the fad of bourbon barrel aged wines, this is a good one.
