234 Somontano Chardonnay
Never though I would taste, much-less like, a Chardonnay from Northeastern Spain; from the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains to be exact.
It has a pale gold color with pear, peach, apple, and some tropical aromas. The fore pallet is consistent with the aromas plus deep notes of passion fruit and honey suckle on the mid pallet. Dry with a medium-round body, medium acidity, and a clean refreshing finish.
PS Producer claims it is hundred percent unoaked Chard; hard to believe, imho. A very new and welcoming alternative to acidic-citrus-explosive New World Chardonnay, I suppose…
