My favourite cuvée from Egly - 100% Pinot Noir. No Pinot Meunière Delectable. Only 30 cms of Top soil and the roots go straight into the chalk. One could smell the chalky minerality. Average age of the vines is 40 years - with the oldest planted in Ambonnay in 1946 with base Wine coming from the 2009 and 2010 vintages. Great power Flavour and Intensity.

Mar 16th, 2018Fantastic Colour - Pale Rose Gold. 100% Pinot Noir, 5 years on lees, Disgorged July 2014. Cherry and butterscotch notes with a hint of ginger. Interestingly this is grown in Ambonnay in an area where there is only a foot of topsoil before the chalk (Les Crayeres). This gives the palate a pronounced minerality with a salty tang. A full bodied yet elegant Champagne - brilliant fizz! One of the 1001 wines.
