A big wine, with lots of dark fruit over accessible tannins. Some of the traditional savory, peppery notes.

Not the right pairing with my food but I was very happy to sample some. Meaty and smoky with a nice density. This was wonderful though possibly a bit young.

I am a Syrah/Rhône guy at heart. This completely exemplifies my tastes. Such a fine line between elegance and muscular extraction. A nose of lively blackberry and violet fields. With a hint of stinky cheese. Black cherry and blackberry are the ripe fruit profile with underlying earthy tones. Tannins fully integrated giving a pleasant rounded mouth feel. A long finish in true Syrah style and you have the making of an extraordinary wine.

Solid Syrah, but lacked the structure I’m accustomed to with this wine.

Dec 31st, 2018This one definitely needs a few more years in the cellar. Has good structure and should be better than the cuvée Christine down the road. Like these Donelan Syrah's quite a bit.
