Post drinking note: damn good. This wine was weird when initially released, but after several years in a cellar, delicious. See my most recent prior notes for more specifics.

May 8th, 2022Old style CDP. Nose has garrigue, iodine, dark berries. Lean but intense. Great savory flavors. Nice length.

Dec 10th, 2018Even after being open a day, this tastes almost like a barrel sample. Young, hard black cherry, blackberry fruit on the nose. A whiff of dark garrigue and scorched earth (the latter scent is almost always an indication that the wine was overextracted). Sure enough, the deep focused fruit is quickly overtaken by an intrusive bitter scorchy streak. Could have been quite nice but they just tried a bit too hard. (At least it's not a character-denuded, homogenized Cambie/Stepford wine).
