Domaine Robert Chevillon
Vieilles Vignes Nuits-Saint-Georges Pinot Noir
Tricky blind. No consensus on the table on its origin. I thought it was non-French. Reduction on the nose. Powerful and structured with almost glossy dark fruits.
Fruit-forward with some orange rind, meat, and chalk in the back end. A big Pinot, but with enough acid to bring about some juiciness. It was reminiscent of some of the more “elegant” Pinot’s of Australia if you ask me. This new style of Chevillon (more approachable?) really tripped me up.
