Definitely my other favorite of the night. Made in a decanter resembling what the king would use for champagne is this amazing little find. Super rich and golden with a nice pear and citrus profile. Hard to explain but always worth it.

The best of the bunch. Half each Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, from a house that owns no vineyards. Nutty, doughy, but with plenty of drive from the vintage. Current release at 18!

Thick. Dense fruit. Soft effervescence.

Had this beauty when I proposed to my fiancé! 1996 vintage brut by De Venoge out of Epernay! Age has done this champagne well. Nice creamy mouth feel, delicate, very fine bubbles, lemon zest, mousse, golden apples, toasted nuts.. arguably one of the best 1996 champagnes out there. A prime example of how a great growing year and proper aging after digorgement, like a 15+ year old vintage Cristal or Bolinger. Can't wait to try their vintage Rosé extra brut 2002, and their 2006 Rosé Brut that are also 93 rated! They both probably need several more years to mature so that the citrus acidity has lessened a bit and all the complexities emurge. Back from my tangent, try this champagne before there aren't anymore left! $199 at total wine for the gift set!

Just fine, but not particularly interesting. Tropical fruits and medium length. But the bottle shape was weird at least...

The best! Rich and dry but not offensive. Hint of pineapples and just the right bubble quantity. Never fails

For an ‘96 Vintage still impressive. Past its prime for sure, but fun to try. If I had this about 5- 10 years ago, I bet phenom.
