I wanted to like this more. I really did. It’s got some nice, weedy cassis fruit. But it’s hidden under a blanket of wood-shoppy, coffee grounds scents. It’s got an old-school palate feel, with a certain leanness and fairly high acidity, which I appreciate. But the fruit is pretty thin and the flavors feature more of a dried fall leaves profile. So, meh.

Enticing Black cherry aromas. Plum, currant, blackberries, blueberries, smoke and graphite. Decanted for 30 minutes. Tannins are still a bit chewy so could use a longer decant if drinking now.
