Vermont Marquette 2012

Deep garnet red, this Vermont Marquette is fresh and plummy on the nose, with a serious bass note of earth. The palate is juicy, but the wine has a lovely velvety texture from its modest and well-articulated tannins. There are flavors of sweet dark plums and ripe cranberry, and the finish is a bit minty. Pair this wine with roasted leg of lamb rubbed with garrigue herbs and mint. 13.9% abv | $17 | sample — 10 years ago
