A rich & tasty Wine with a lot of Character. A little bit rare but in a very good way. — 11 years ago
Not the greatest of Bordeaux vintages (I remember a lot of rain!) but the great Chateaux made less and made it well. 21 years on, this wine has all the hallmarks of the greatest Clarets. Incredible concentration despite a moderate 12.5% alc. and incredible youth & fresh activist too. A rare joy. — 11 years ago
A lot lighter than I thought it would be. Crushed red berries and dried flowers. Perfect with a rare steak. — 11 years ago
Cassis syrup, loamy earth and white flowers, mandarin orange skin. Rich and structured in the mouth with a bit more elegance and balance than I expected. I went into the glass expecting mammoth proportions and the nose confirmed. In the mouth the wine has confounded me in an intriguing fashion, more earth and grip than expected and quite dry, which is unfortunately rare in high end Cab. Second taste showed a lot more monomeric tannin and serious grip. A decade may be wise for this one to get those tannins polymerized...soften! Lovely wine though, impressive and taught me something. — 11 years ago
Cab Night. Alex's favorite. Paired with Gouda, Bleu Cheese, and rare meats. — 13 years ago
Lot of wine for the money. Earthy and elegant. — 10 years ago
For me part of drinking this wine was just the sensorial and emotional part of drinking it but the other part was historical like being transported in time to the beginning of something. 1982 #priorat was still in diapers as we know it today and yet then was the creation of this wine. I enjoyed it a lot. A rare gem. — 11 years ago
A rare 2001 bottle. It was a lot of fruit, very big. I think they deliberately don't make them like this anymore. We enjoyed it but newer vintages feel more, shall we say, refined? — 11 years ago

Perfect with a medium rare NY Strip@ — 11 years ago
I just got a shipment from Carlisle today and it included their 2013 Alicante, which encouraged me to pull this one out of the cellar. The 2004 is the only other varietal Alicante they have produced. Sourced from old vines at Montafi and Rossi Ranches which were subsequently ripped out. Only one barrel was made of this, so it is a rare treat. This reminds me a lot of Petite Sirah and it is aging like one. Very youthful, with great structure and big deep dark fruit flavors with early signs of secondary development. I wish I had more of these to hang on to. The 2013 is sourced from Pagani Ranch and I will let it rest for a while. — 11 years ago
What a surprise! Beautiful Pedral red rare wine from Rias Baixas! Something unique, roses, red fresh fruits, lot of minerals... — 11 years ago
Young age brings out the wonderful juiciness and openness in this one. Tight, bity, firm and very honest — it screams pomegranate and cranberry. Very bright and clear, a rare case of young Burgundy (even Mercurey) that I like a lot. Great every day bottle that won't keep you bored. — 11 years ago
One of those rare treats I got to try at work. Absolutely beautiful! — 12 years ago
Lovely black fruits, cloves and cinnamon on the nose as well as a lot of menthol. Hot alcohol which is a bit much tasting the wine on its own but with a medium rare stake it really works. — 12 years ago
15$! It's rare Cabernet from Napa valley. better than I expected. I hope I bought this in Japan... — 13 years ago

A lot lighter than I would have expected from a French Pinot noir. Delicate, but strong aromas of spiced cranberry. Serve this with a very simple dish, maybe even chicken thighs or medium-rare lamb. — 10 years ago
