Better than S but just slightly — a year ago
Wednesday random cellar pick. Good. Was expecting some sharpness but there was none. Super smooth and enjoyable. This is the easy drinking kind of wine I like to pair with Italian food. — 4 months ago
Lovely after a couple of days open. A bit flat on the first night. But after weekend was soft, with taste of currents, oak, citrus, really mellow — 9 months ago

Fresh and nutty taste very smooth with a lingering palette. Highly recommend — 3 years ago
Not as tannic as some. Cool@climate Shiraz at its best. — 8 months ago
$15 closeout & feels like theft! Inky massive, voluptuous wafting tons of dense black fruit, brooding, white pepper, game, bit feral, had a bit more nuance than many garden variety Shiraz. Very broad across the middle, generous ripe black fruit & pepper, decent balance, little clumsy & provincial, but definitely enjoyable. — 8 months ago
Another bargain picked up at auction several years ago, tucked away in the cellar. Could happily have sat there for at least another decade, ‘though I’d say it’s an excellent time to drink this one. Serious wines, these Taltarnis, with their proper concentration and structure. Can’t just open them frivolously. Sternness over affability. But given time to unfurl, it’s full of seductively rich dark fruit, liquorice, hints of dark chocolate and tight core of relentless tannins. Each sip is intriguing. Best with food for sure, but on its own it gives pause to contemplate. Lovely stuff. — 10 months ago

Rich, lavishly oaked, tannic and quite structured, this solid Shiraz probably needs 5 or more likely 10 years to be ready to drink, but, well, traveling and all and can’t bring everything home, medium-long finish, really does need time!! — 4 months ago
