How to commemorate the end of WW2? how about a wine from then. This made me cry. That is all. — 11 years ago
Doesn't get much better than this. Gemstone ruby hue with a tawny ring. Attractive nose, but the palate is just magnificent. Orange and spices underpinned by tar. Endless finish. I shy from giving it a 10 only because I consider it to be "life affirming" rather than "life changing." Like drinking time itself. Amazingly, it could probably age another decade or so with ease. Sheer brilliance. Bravo! — 11 years ago

My fault. — 12 years ago
Really interesting wine. Fig, ginger, orange and hazelnut. Reminded me of an old tawny port. — 13 years ago
I was the only one that guessed Bordeaux. Shows again that 45 was a big year for Bordeaux and of course historically. Very light and translucent in the glass. Has a rustic ness to it that is very attractive and the fruit has a sweetness that captures what this might have been when younger. Great finish. — 11 years ago
Yo Delectable...this is 1945 'The Year of the VICTORY'... Drank this with Karen MacNeil and it was absolutely perfect. Front to back, soft melted tannins to fresh acid backbone. So elegant and complete that these experience are why we seek almost holy beings in our wine life. Just incredible. — 11 years ago

— 12 years ago

Grand Puy Ducasse 1945 — 11 years ago
Hay, forest, bakery, apricot, walnut, all around green apple searing acid. Unbelievable. Day 3 of being open was much the same. More banana peel and less dough, but the acid core remains. A treat. — 11 years ago
96/100. Funky stuff but I really like it. Great 1945! — 11 years ago

Amazing that this bottle is still tight and could age more. Still amazing fruit and structure. — 10 years ago
