La Jota Vineyard Co.

Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

(My portfolio). Still cruising along with its powerful self. Black licorice and blueberry jam and a smokiness to go along with that Howell Mountain herbal back note. — 10 years ago

Cedar Knoll Vineyard Co (Palmaz)

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Heavy, thick. The start is brightly sharp (?), like sparkling rich flavors up front move on for 10 seconds until it all catches and the cocoa, and dusty tannins envolope the back of my tongue. My girlfriend tasted it and just said "tastes kinda like chocolate covered strawberries." — 11 years ago

Vinho Verde DOC White Blend 2014

Love me some VV. Great light sparkle, perfectly tart. Especially at this price point, will go back for many more. Thanks, Underdog Wine Co! — 11 years ago

Burnside Brewing Sweet Heat, from Portland, Or. A wheat beer w/ 200lbs apricots, and dry hopped w/ Jamaican Scotch Bonnet peppers. Perfect balance of heat, sweet, and Weiss characteristics with a gentle spice lingering in the back of the mouth. Very good! — 13 years ago

Summit Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2011

Had to make room for the bottles we brought back from the weekend! I think it was a good time to drink this. Summit is my favorite of the Pali Pinots that I've had. — 10 years ago

Cantina dei Produttori Carema

Riserva Carema Nebbiolo 2011

Classically Nebbiolo with a rustic charm. Complex nose... black cherries, tar, bright limestone, dried wood, and the aromas of a fresh flower market. Palate is round and juicy with back-end acidity, more than tannin. Red fruit dominates, and the rustic feel persists. Dry finish, with excellent length with cranberries and red raspberry. Opened nicely overall several hours. Will pair well with pastas and game. Co-op producer. — 10 years ago

La Jota Vineyard Co.

Heritage Release Howell Moiuntain Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Oh Mama! It has been a while since I got to try this. Smoky with tobacco notes to accompany that dark Howell Mtn fruit. Finish is more dark red cherries and the tannins are really well integrated. Damn, I wish I hadn't sold all of this back when we had it in Chicago, I want a bottle for home! — 11 years ago

Jean-Philippe Fichet

Meursault Chardonnay 2011

This was such an appropriate introduction to Fichet. Jean Marc had nothing but great things to say about him back in March. My first experience, spectacular wine and makes me want to head directly to Rare Wine Co. to see what's happening with the lieu-dit bottljngs. '02 Tesson perhaps? — 13 years ago
