Jameson

Triple Distilled Select Reserve Black Barrel Irish Whiskey

Visited the Jameson Distillery while in Dublin. Was an interesting experience.

This whiskey is matured in charred bourbon barrels.

Nose - banana and toffee. Palate- caramel and toasted oak.

Makes a good cocktail with fresh lime and ginger ale.

Guinness

St. James's Gate Dublin West Indies Porter 1801

9.0

Nice, rounded Porter from the folks at Guinness. It has a dark colour with a very acceptable light carbonation and nut brown head that goes quite quickly. Taste wise, this is mild and smooth with hints of toffee and chocolate. Lovely. — a year ago

Yalumba

The Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Jeff and I had this wine at Nautilus seafood restaurant in Swords, an upscale community outside of Dublin. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the ships in the harbor while dining on some incredible food. This wine has so much going on in it. From overwhelming aromas of cherry, mint, coffee, raspberries and currant. On the palate this wine is full of tart fruit with very balanced tannins. This wine is a full bodied wine with a long lingering finish and it warms the belly, but it is so well rounded that it goes down very easily. Please try this one!!!!!
