The 2002 pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing and basically a meatball right down the middle of the plate. Powerful notes of ripe pineapple, some ripe stone fruit, lemon curd, marzipan, butter, minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and has a great acid and mineral zip that helps cut through the density. This is a Chardonnay that so many producers desperately want to make but there are so few that can execute with this level of precision. Of the three wines in this flight it was sort of overshadowed early by the Sauzet and the Leroy Aligote…but that changed when the food came. Paired with the roulade du lapin, this was without equal. Drink now through 2032. — 5 months ago
My favorite 'champagne', this is what I drink for New Years Eve. Delicious without accompanying food, this bottle was meant to be dessert all on it's own. — 9 years ago
Great bottle! No 🐞 problem with this one. Quite complex and in a very good way right now. — 4 months ago
