Dégorgement 2018 millésime 2011
Bulle fine superbe équilibre et finesse assez incroyable au regard du millésime — 3 months ago
Great discovery from another under the radar appellation: Les Riceys, a commune in the Côte des Bar, about 2 hours south of Reims, almost bordering Burgundy. Savory, not sparkling Rosé made with Pinot Noir from a single vineyard on chalky soils, farmed biodynamically. Carbonic maceration. Aged in barrels for 3 years. Pale ruby color with orange hues. Lively, complex nose with aromas of strawberries, smoky notes. Light-bodied, mineral, saline, great texture. Reminiscent of Poulsard — 8 months ago

2023/12/31 with steamed spiny lobster and karaage. Started very tight, with prominent and steely acidity. With air, gradually opened to reveal intense citrus and chalk. Definitely a sleek, tensed personality, but likely to get even better with time — 3 months ago

For the price, I expected a lot more. So did the rest on the table. Probably too young as it did improve with air, but I’ve had youthful (and cheaper) Champagne’s that performed far better than this. Started off with heaps of pears, bruised apples, and almonds on the nose. The palate was concentrated, juicy and almost too fruity for me (apples and apricot for days!). Air brought about more cut and chalkiness, as well as some floral notes. In short, I expected more depth. I suspect I’m just not a fan of the vintage. Time will tell. — a month ago
