Fine tannins, long finish ending with tobacco and cacao wrapped in an earthy spice character. Starting to drink well now, good for another decade.

Way too many options to tag this wine.
This needed a day to open up. Delicate and soft Sangiovese with refined structure. My preference over the Pieve Santa Restituta.

2016: A disappointment: early tannic mouthfeel opens up to… not a lot. Would expect better concentration, fruit, acid to take over but the result is fairly weak and underwhelming. Too young? Maybe but way better choices at lower price points. $65 (!) at Gary’s.
