This wine was tried alongside a classic Rhine Syrah and, I won't lie, I much preferred the other. This is a huge wine with explosions of dark fruit and mocha. An attractive minerality offers some degree of sophistication making it more that you average fruit bomb.

Best Rhone blend in years. Have been getting these from the mailing list, finally had the right group to try with! Gerry, Kurt, myself and our better halves! Rich, full bodied with great extracted fruit! A mouthful that I will not forget. I say a solid 97 in my experience. CB Tried this Past Sunday!!!!

Still a bit young but developing nicely. Better than the last one cracked open last year. Decanted for about 45 min, which was fine. The tannins and acid are finally integrating together. Nice vanilla and oak on the nose along with a host of blackberry and pepper notes. The thing I love about #saxum fruit is that it's truly focused and multidimensional. Plush mouthfeel, but not overbearing, blankets you without any hint of heat. Rich, bold black fruit on the front pallate with medium depth in mid pallate finishing off with a lingering razor focused back pallate.

Shut down upon opening. Nose was great but palate was shut. Started coming together after an hour but not great. Needs time.

Monday night pull. Idiot friend wanted wine with burgers. He said “it’s red meat”. Meh, rather have a coke. Good juice. Cork was soft. Enjoyable but maybe better sooner? I won’t know.
