@Delectable Wine this is the 2017 Bartho Eksteen Cape Winemakers Guild Vloekskoot Sauvignon Blanc - Wooded.

Our first time every at the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and we will make sure to come back! (Tasting was on 9/28/18).

Third wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild. This is made of 100% Sauvignon Blanc by Bartho Eksteen from the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Aged on the lees for 11 months. Only 57 cases produced and only 40 being auctioned in 2018.

Light greenish yellow in appearance. Very interesting with onion grass exploding out of the glass followed up by some light herbs and lime. Medium acidity (6/10) and light plus to medium body. Similar flavors on the palate with a slightly creamy medium finish. Drink till 2021.

$$ - Tasted at the Cape Winemakers Auction. Average bid at auction was R3,250.00 ($38.28 a bottle) a case. Highest bid was R4,200.00 ($49.46 a bottle) and lowest bid was R2,600.00 ($30.62 a bottle).
