A light to medium weight palate. Tasted blind Barb thought Victorian ie. Giant Steps or Bass Phillip and I must admit that could be so. Savoury red fruits, cherry, raspberry - a burnt toffee note. Soft, smooth fine tannins. A slight hint of tarriness. A good Pinot if not a little expensive. Light and refreshing. Fruity flavors with slight vanilla undertones. Very crisp, but has a slight bite in the aftertaste. Would be great with mussels, crab, or a sharp cheese platter. — 9 years ago
Wine #1400th for me. I suppose destiny is destiny. Sort of has a special way of it find you, not you find it. Finally was able to try this highly coveted wine and with some age. Great chard, fresh and crisp with hints of stone fruit and citrus plus an earthy finish. Cheers. — 3 months ago

Enjoying this, though it’s lower tannin than you might find a cab from other CA regions. Blackberry and leather on the nose that moves toward dark chocolate as it opens up. A bit earthy but some dark fruit too. Smooth and velvety, probably not going to age better from here. — 9 months ago

Duncan saved the best for last at his arlequin wine merchant tasting. Tasting through the new chards and pinots, I wondered about how these wines age because they sure seemed tight and the Pinot was even tannic. This 2009 Syrah, however, was wonderful and open, showing all sorts of dark berries, pine, mint, forest-y character, and nice felty tannins. I'd decide to wait on the others, too! — 9 years ago

Dark ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and plum. Plus body, plus tannins, plus acid. While strong, balanced, and elegant, it opens up with a soft, round palate. Exemplary Napa red. 68 Cab Sauv, 28 Merlot, 2 Cab Franc, 2 Petit Verdot. — 4 months ago
