Medolia Melon de Bourgogne

2020 vintage. 100% Melon de Bourgogne. An old vine selection from 2 different vineyards with soils composed of shale and green rocks. Vinified and aged in "dolia" ( egg-shaped terracotta vats). Intriguing nose with exotic fruits, flowers, and a strong minerality, like a salty Condrieu if that makes any sense. Lots of flavour and intensity for such a low-alcohol wine ( 12,5 abv), with crisp white fruit, mouthwatering acidity, a subtle bitterness, and a long, saline finish. Gorgeous. Biodynamically farmed. — a month ago

Les Laures Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Melon de Bourgogne

2018 vintage. Another splendid wine from this biodynamical producer. Granite soils. Les Laures is always very mineral, in a delicious combination with an exemplary purity of citrus fruit and that typical Muscadet saltiness. Amazingly intense with so little alcohol (abv. 12%), this 2018 is hard to resist now, but will age well. Extraordinary value also since Muscadet remains one of the most underrated wine regions in France. Grab this wine by the case if you can find it. — 4 years ago
