Chris Ringland 's wines are balanced and complex. I'd put them against any old world Syrah. — 7 years ago
Perfect balance for my palate. A bit of earthiness, with hints of spice and fruit. Mild tannins but wonderful — 7 years ago
Starting off this birthday week celebration with some old school wines, this one was first up (rounding up to tasting note 1,000 on Delectable this weekend).
Was nervous about if this wine had held up. Seemed like it had a little bit of seepage and when we removed the cork it was wet and crumbled straight away. Additionally it was a mid to low shoulder.
Medium tawny brown with watery edges. Love this nose, layers of stinky and gamey notes, burnt and smoked wood, mushrooms, forest floor and some light red berries too. Extremely well balanced and well integrated. Moderate tannins (5/10) and medium bodied. A touch of jamminess on the palate with soft red fruits and some nice spiciness. Insanely long finish. Would be excited to try another one of these that was stored properly. Drink till 2019. — 7 years ago
full of sweet fullness. Persimmon, honeydew, nuts ... Aged but still clear and translucent.. Joyful as afternoon tea time. (More syrup and liquor like intensity) — 8 years ago

Phelps Creek 2013 Sauvignon Blanc is oh so yummy. I call it the Sassy Back Talker! — 10 years ago
@Eric LaMasters - Your recent posts on this wine spurred me onto checking in on the 2014. Fabulous! Power, purity, concentration, blue & black fruit, tannins already integrated; real pleasure to enjoy. Chris Maybach & TRB excellence! Cheers 🍇🍷👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 — 5 years ago
The Phelps Pinot’s take awhile to come around. This 11 overachieves the vintage and has put on weight since I first tasted it at Phelps. Plenty of life ahead of this wine. I will wait another 2-4 years to open another. On the nose; dark cherries, cherries, blue fruits hues, dry cranberries plum and blackberries, limestone minerals, violets, red floral and red roses. The body is medium. The tannins silty/silky soft. The fruits are ripe & ruby. Sweet & sour dark cherries, cherries, pomegranate, blue fruits hues, dry cranberries plum, and blackberries. Silky volcanic minerals, limestone, cola with a touch of red vines, dark rich dry soil, hints of crushed rocks, fruit tea, violets, and red. Roses, beautiful rainfall acidity. The length, structure, length and balance are harmonious. The long, elegant, well polished finished lasts over a minute and is fruit and floral driven. @Compline...Master Sommelier Matt Stamps & Ryan Stetins new restaurant & retail shop downtown Napa. Food is very good & inexpensive. Good retail shop wines all $12-$48. Leave it to a Master Sommelier to find really good affordable wines. They have a bright future. — 6 years ago
I was delighted to find Maison Bleue's tasting room in downtown Walla Walla on my last visit, and even more surprised to taste the Domaine J. Meuret Les Chênes Pinot Noir 2013, the inaugural vintage of this label, all of which are single vineyard wines made by Jon Meuret. The quality is outstanding—expressing pie cherries, cranberries, morels and sweet leaf tobacco which fall well below perfumy rose petals and fragrant dried mint. It's weightless and light, with an understory of fine tannins lending structure to grace. — 8 years ago

Another scorching day, another record temperature falls. Still too hot to go red and I wanted to rock a nice Cabernet. Well...not yet. A little Sauvignon Blanc to battle the heat. And, a warm up to next weeks JP party. On the nose; jasmine, green apple, lemon, lime, pineapple, honey notes, bees wax, soft volcanic minerals and yellow florals. The fruits on the palate are not as pronounced as they are on the nose. Peach, green apple, lemon, lime, pineapple, honey notes, bees wax, soft volcanic minerals, oily body, round acidity & finish with yellow florals. @ no chips & salsa 💃 @Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher — 7 years ago
